I don't know the story but I understand that the owner of the car. Did anyone save the files about Lucifers Hammer the turboed B36 engine in an E28 M5? Visiting with a friend he shared with me the story of a recent read. I've read a number of Niven's other novels (mostly in the Protector/Ringworld series). I recently finished Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle published in 1977 (I found it hidden away in the basement). Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle is, I've read, considered a classic novel in the SF global disaster genre. Just the other day he found a book printed in the late 70's that spoke of a great calamity. In One Second After; Alas, Babylon; and Lucifer's Hammer; the answer seems to be "a small town". It's dated but I enjoyed the apocalyptic Lucifer's Hammer.
